WHO WE ARE

The Digital Tech Cluster is a team of scholars and graduate students from the School of Built Environment at Massey University. It focuses on understanding the value, impact and challenges of digital technology applications in design, construction, and operation practices. We develop and evaluate methods and processes that leverage and integrate Extended Reality (Virtual and Augmented Reality), Reality Capture (Drones and Laser Scanning), and Building Information Modelling techniques.

Our mission is to establish the framework for developing next-generation technology-enhanced solutions to built environment problems by incorporating the cognitive processes of the human component of activities and operations. Our research is at the intersection of basic and applied science, focusing on challenging long-lasting assumptions in the field, laying the foundations of scientific knowledge on the cognitive and practical benefits of digital technology applications, and identifying opportunities for revolutions in user experiences and technology adoption.
